Tami has been a bodyworker since 1992. She was introduced to the trade while she worked as a chiropractic and Physical therapy assistant. She first considered a career in massage when she began witnessing amazing results with patients who received professional bodywork in comparison to those who did not.
Tami sought a degree in massage therapy in 1995 after attending 2 years of traditional college at UNC and Fort Lewis College in Colorado. She chose to study massage at Utah College of Massage Therapy. Upon graduation, she tested to become Nationally Certified and was licensed in Utah.
Professional therapist are required to pursue continued education for National Certification and licensing. In order to offer the best therapeutic value to her clients, Tami has chosen to train alongside both chiropractors and PTs in some the most effective, challenging and outside the box techniques.
She has had the privilege to gain knowledge from some of the most well known and respected professionals in the field including Peter J. Levy, DC (Neuromuscular reeducation) , Eric Dalton, DC, (Myoskeletal Alignment), Bruno Chikly, DO (Lymphatic Drainage) and Jerry Hesch, DPT (Hesch Method). Other modalities include, aromatherapy, pregnancy, cranial sacral, reflexology, sports, geriatric, healing touch, shiatsu, Touch for health etc.
Her bodywork sessions are often mixture of modalities. When having a box full of tools why just use one? That is why each session is unique to each client. Clients report liking the effective therapeutic approach, her knowledge of the body and her ability to assess specific issues that may have been overlooked previously.
A 3 1/2 year chronic issue resulting from a sledding accident helped Tami understand the frustrations of what it was like to be a client seeking effective, affordable care. With research and training she found the help she needed and trained in the amazing work she received.
She believes that simple patterns and compensations are often overlooked, invalidated and under treated leaving people to deal with more than pain. Being in pain is exhausting, depressing and affects the quality of life of not only the patient, but their family and friends.
Many of her clients say that they wish they could afford to have massage more often and express a desire to either receive or learn techniques to share with their loved ones at home to help with certain issues. Her professional clients also express interest in learning from her.
Tami has made some changes in her practice in 2025 and has decided to offer private Lessons in many modalities as well as her advanced bodywork.
She enjoys sharing her beautiful garden room studio located in her home in Meridian for therapy and private lessons.
